Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations Listing Notice 1 of 2014 (No. R. 983 of 2014).

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs identifies activities that require authorization prior to commencement. It also identifies competent authorities for purposes of sections 24(2) and 24D of the National Environmental Management Act. Investigation, assessment and communication of potential impact of activities must follow the procedure as described in regulations 22 to 24 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014. Activities include mining development, construction in the field of agriculture and development in coastal zones, development and related operation of facilities or infrastructure for the keeping or slaughter of animals, aquaculture, waterworks, treatment of effluent, wastewater or sewage, and any process or activity identified in terms of section 53(1) of the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act, 2004.
