General Notice in terms of section 16 of the Marine Living Resources Act for the Protection of Wild Abalone (Haliotis) (GN No. 1024 of 2007).

This Notice of the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, made under section 16 of the Marine Living Resources Act, introduce an emergency suspension of the fishing for wild abalone (Haliotis) for the protection and for the recovery and rebuilding of the stock of this marine aquatic animal species. The emergency as declared is defined by GN. 1111 of 1998.
