Abstract
This Act, divided into six chapters and 38 articles, provides for enhancing and promoting the ideal of access to land on an equitable basis; the land reform as a means of facilitating land justice, and therefore the Act establishes a Court with jurisdiction to grant any order, appropriate relief or impose any sanction; establishes an appeal process; provides for mediation. The Act concerns: establishment, composition, seal, seat and jurisdiction of the Court; terms and conditions for the appointment of judges; remuneration of the judges; appointment of officers, staff and assessors; Court proceedings and rules governing procedure of Court; intervention to proceedings before Court, right to appear and legal representation; powers and functions of Court under other legislation; Witnesses, witness fees and admissibility of evidence; scope and execution of process of Court; offences relating to execution; powers of Court; mediation and settling of matters; general provisions; power to issue Regulations; amendment of other Acts concerning land tenure and land rights.
