Abstract
This Notice of the Delegated Authority, Forestry and Fisheries made pursuant to section 79 (1)(a) of the Marine Living Resources Act 18 of 1998, stipulates that a precautionary approach is required in implementing the new small-scale fishery and fixes the duration of a small-scale fishing right for a maximum of three years. The Delegated Authority may only once at the expiration of such a period extend the period of validity of the right for a further period not exceeding two years on such conditions as it may impose.
