Abstract
These Regulations prohibit the manufacture, trade and commercial distribution of specified plastic bags for use within the Republic of South Africa and prescribe offences and penalties. These non-reusable bags are dumped in the environment and not collected for recycling or disposal because the thin plastic film they are made of has little commercial value to consumers or recyclers.
