Abstract
These Regulations implement provisions of the Animal Improvement Act, 1998 with respect to the control of reproduction of animals in South Africa.
The Regulations provide for the registration of inseminators, semen collectors, embryo collector or embryo transferors, the conditions for and registration of centres in sense of section 7 and 8 of the Act, approval of animals as donors of genetic material, registration of import agents, registration of animal breeding societies, registration of registering authorities and sale and importation of generic material, exportation of landraces, keeping in care of animals at reproduction centres and appeals in terms of section 23 of the Act. Genetic material collected in the South Africa or imported into South Africa shall, at the moment of sale in South Africa, be accompanied by a written warranty.
