Abstract
These Regulations prescribe standards and requirements regarding deciduous fruits, citrus fruits, subtropical fruits and other unspecified fruits in respect of which an approval for the export is required of the Executive Officer in terms of the Agricultural Products Standards Act. "Deciduous fruits" means fruits of the kinds apricots, apples, cherries, table grapes, nectarines, pears, peaches, plums and prunes The Regulations prohibit export of such fruit without approval and set out requirements relating to an application for a permit. Each consignment shall be inspected by an inspector, who shall approve or reject the consignment. The Regulations also provide for assessment of testing laboratories and appeal against a direction or decision of an inspector, and define offences.
