Abstract
The purpose of these Regulations is to regulate procedures and criteria as contemplated in Chapter 5 of the National Environmental Management Act for the submission, processing, consideration and decision of applications for environmental authorization of activities and for related matters.
The Regulations make provision for procedures regarding environment impact assessment and, in relation with approval of environmental authorizations, public hearings and the appointment of environmental assessment practitioners. Environmental authorizations may require environmental impact assessments, scoping reports (as defined in these Regulations) and environmental management plans.
