Abstract
These Regulations place restrictions on the sale of garlic that does not comply with requirements laid down by these Regulations. No person shall sell garlic in the Republic of South Africa which does not comply with these requirements. Imported garlic may be exempted from requirements if it, for example, complies with specified international standards including the Codex Alimentarius. The Regulations specify classes and set out requirements regarding, among other things, packaging and labelling and quality.
