Abstract
These Regulations of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries prohibit the sale in South Africa of jam, jelly and marmalade (as defined in classes by these Regulations), whether imported or produced in South Africa, that does not meet quality standards as prescribed by these Regulations. The Regulations define classes of jam, jelly and marmalade and prescribe quality standards for each class. They also prescribe rules relative to packing and labelling of jam, jelly and marmalade and make provision for sampling, testing and inspection of jam, jelly and marmalade. Table 1 and 2 set out standards regarding content of jam, jelly and marmalade, whereas Table 3 sets out indications for analysis.
