Abstract
These Regulations, made under section 15(1) of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act, 1972, amend the Regulations relating to preservatives and antioxidants in foodstuffs of 1977 in the Annexure by specifying for all types of bread the preservative Propionic Acid in the quantity permitted. No product may be sold, which contains a preservative, except foodstuffs that contain preservatives in the quantity specified in Annexure A. Also the sale of preservatives that are not specified in Annexure A is prohibited.
