Abstract
Section 3 states that performance of scientific experiments on animals, in accordance with this Act, of a scientific experiment shall be lawful, notwithstanding anything contained in any other law. No person other than a person licensed to do so under section 4 shall perform a scientific experiment. Licences shall be issued by the Minister. The Minister may in any licence impose such special conditions as he considers necessary or desirable for the proper control of the performance of the scientific experiments authorized by the license (sect. 4). No licencee shall perform any experiment on any animal which is likely to cause pain for the purpose of attaining manual skill (sect. 5). Other provisions of this Act concern inspections (sect. 6) and regulation-making powers of the Minister (sect. 7). Section 8 prescribes offences and penalties. (8 sections)
