Abstract
This Act provides with respect to the registration and functioning of veterinary surgeons and for this purpose establishes the Council of Veterinary Surgeons and requires the Council to appoint a Veterinary Surgeons Registrar and to keep a Veterinary Surgeons Register.
The Council shall hold inquiries for the purposes of this Act and do all other things required or permitted to be done by the Council in terms of this Act and such other things as, in the opinion of the Council, are necessary or desirable for the proper regulation of the practice of the profession of veterinary surgery and medicine and the improvement of veterinary services in Zimbabwe.
The Act sets out qualifications for registration and a veterinary surgeon and empowers the Council to undertake disciplinary action against veterinary surgeons. The Act also defines regulatory powers of the Council.
