Description
A term used for plastics that are bio-based (fully or partially), but non-biodegradable; petroleum-based and biodegradable; and both bio-based (fully or partially) and biodegradable. The term can be confusing because it can lead consumers to assume that the plastic product is completely plant-based or is biodegradable and they may dispose of it in the open environment.
