Decree 206/2025, of 4-6-2025, approving the Hunting Regulations.

This regulatory decree, issued by the Government of Andorra in June 2025, approves a new Hunting Regulation that replaces previous regulations from 2019 and 2018. It develops the recently enacted Hunting Law 18/2024, aiming to modernize and make hunting activity more sustainable, biodiverse, and compatible with other uses of the natural environment.
The regulation introduces key changes, such as replacing the traditional "hunting card" with a "hunting permit". It distinguishes between huntable species (e.g., jay, magpie, thrush, blackbird, wood pigeon), species subject to regulation due to public health/safety risks or agricultural damage (e.g., wild boar, fox, deer, mouflon), and species subject to management plans (roe deer, isard, mouflon).
The regulation details procedures for obtaining the hunting permit through theoretical and practical exams, types of hunting licences (seasonal, accompanied and unaccompanied special licences for species under plans), and priority systems in public draws for special licences. It also regulates new hunting methods and devices (e.g., thermal sights for night boar shooting, air rifles above 24 joules, bows with minimum draw weights, and specific arrowhead dimensions). Administrative drives, night shoots, and control of regulated species are extensively covered, including compensation for hunting dogs injured or killed during administrative drives and mandatory marking and traceability of hunted game. The regulation reinforces safety measures , sanitary monitoring, and the prohibition of commercialisation of game without prior verification by the Corps of Banders. Penalties for non-compliance are those established in the parent Hunting Law.
