Land Affairs Management Law.

This Law aims to regulate land affairs in the country. The Law consists of 119 articles, divided into 13 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Land Affairs Management (II); Land Ownership Documents (III); Cadastral Survey (IV); Land Treatment (V); Land Recapturing (VI); Eligibility (VII); Land Distribution (VIII); Land Ownership Transfer (IX); Land Leasing (X); Land Seizure (XI); Punishment (XII); Final Provisions (XIII).
The main objectives of this Law include: to regulate land affairs in the country; to recapture the arrogated lands; to facilitate the access to public lands for agricultural, trade, and industrial activities; to increase domestic and foreign investment in land improvement. The Land Affairs Department is the authority responsible to implement the provisions of this Law. The Land Affairs Department may zone the country to making better use of lands. The Land Affairs Department shall register the lands, collect information, prevent land seizure, and distribute the State’s lands. The Law establishes the High Council for Lands to prepare and enact national policies and strategies, to provide for national development projects, exploit land and water resources, and monitor the compliance with provisions of this Law.
