Law No. 9860 amending and supplementing Law No. 8518 of 1999 on irrigation and drainage.

This Law lays down several amendments and addenda to Law No. 8518 of 1999 on irrigation and drainage. The definitions of “water users’ associations” and “Board of Representatives” are replaced by “water users’ organizations” and “Council of Representatives” respectively. The addenda concern various issues such as: tasks and responsibilities of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection; transfer of irrigation and drainage infrastructures; exploitation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems; tasks and responsibilities of water users’ organizations and federations and related aspects such as membership rights, statutes and rules of procedures.
