Regulation No. 1 implementing the Law on Fisheries and Aquaculture of 1995.

These Regulations implement the basic legislation on Fisheries and Aquaculture of 1995. The Regulations provide for fisheries and aquaculture in all waters of Albania.
The 74 articles of the Regulations are divided into 12 chapters: General provisions (I); The Consultative Organs (II); Rules of programming (III); Scientific research (IV); Registration of professional fishermen and sailing means (V); Licensing (VI); Prohibited fishing activities (VII); Sport fishing (VIII); Fishing outside the waters of the Republic of Albania (IX); Gathering data (X); Administration of Coastal Lagoons (XI); The Analysis of violations of law (XII). The Regulations specify requirements to be satisfied in order to obtain a fishing licence (including for aquaculture) and provide for restrictions (quota, fish size, protected species, seasons, prohibited fishing areas, fishing gear, minimum mesh, etc.). A list (by species) of minimum sizes for fish catch, crustaceans and molluscs is attached to the text.
