Law No. 7908 on Fishery and Aquaculture 1995.

The Act outlines basic principles of management and conservation in the sectors of fisheries and aquaculture. The Act applies to fishery and aquaculture in all waters of Albania.
The 47 articles of the Act are divided into 11 Chapters: General provisions (I); Consultative organs (II); Rules of programming (III); Scientific research (IV); Fishing (V); Exercising of aquaculture activity (VI); Management of lagoons and other water limitrophe areas (VII); Other responsibilities of the Ministry (VIII); Inspection (IX); Contravention, sanction and responsibilities (X); Last provisions (XI). A consultative body, called the 'Central Consultative Commission for Fishery and Aquaculture', is established. Local consultative commissions are established with local administrative authorities (art. 4). Professional fishermen and fishing vessels shall be registered in registers created by the Ministry (art. 6).
Article 19 deals with foreign fishing. Article 36 provides for the establishment of a Fishery Inspectorate.
