Abstract
This Regulation places restrictions on bivalve mollusc fishing with various kinds of gear ranging from trawling nets to manual nets. Its purpose is to enhance the development of fishing and productivity of bivalve molluscs and at the same time to protect the biological ecosystem where fishing activities take place. Article 2 specifies minimum size of molluscs. The owner of fishing license must declare to the respective Inspectorate Office within the 15th of each month all the data of the previous month according to the forms A and B attached to this regulation (art. 3). The Fishery Directorate after taking into consideration the positive opinion of the Local Consulting Commission for Fishery and Aquaculture shall establish the fishing season for bivalve molluscs (art. 4). Article 5 specifies technical characteristics that vessels shall possess. Fishing seasons for various mollusc species are specified in article 6. The daily maximum quantity for the vessels that meet requirements laid down in article 5 are defined in article 7. A Certificate of Control shall form part of the boat documentation (art. 10).
