Presidential Decree No. 226/12 approving the Statute of Ministry of Fisheries (MINPESCAS).

This Presidential Decree approves the Statute of Ministry of Fisheries (MINPESCAS). This Statute, consisting of 5 Chapters and 3 Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Ministerial Department, entitled to: propose the strategy, implementing fisheries and aquaculture sustainable development policies, in particular for the exploitation of fisheries resources, including aquaculture and marine salt extraction; to guarantee, in collaboration with other competent authorities, the implementation of preserving measures and sustainable management of aquatic biological resources.
