Energy Control Act (E-ControlG).

This Federal Act establishes and regulates the mandate, organisation, powers and functioning of Energie-Control Austria (E-Control) as the independent regulatory authority for the electricity, gas and hydrogen sectors. It transposes and implements key European Union legislation on the internal energy market, renewable energy and energy efficiency, and defines E-Control’s responsibilities with regard to market regulation, network access, tariff setting, consumer protection, monitoring of wholesale energy markets, dispute settlement and enforcement. The Act sets out the governance structure of the authority, including its board, regulatory commission and supervisory bodies, provides for cooperation with national and EU institutions on cross-border and regional energy market issues, and lays down rules on reporting, financing, oversight and administrative procedures.
