Abstract
The aim of the present Act is, inter alia, to make available environmental-friendly, cheap, sufficient and high quality natural gas to the Austrian people and economy thus guaranteeing the efficient production of electricity and heat, as well as to create a safe infrastructure ensuring a constant natural gas supply by the European Community. The text consists of 171 articles divided into 18 Parts as follows: Principles (1); Financing, confidentiality, information, ban on discrimination and subsidies (2); Running of nets (3); Virtual trading point (4); System charges (5); Balance group system (6); Storage companies (7); Legal unbundling for distribution system operators (8); Natural gas traders and utilities (9); Obligations to customers (10); Monitoring tasks (11); Dispute settlement (12); Natural gas pipeline and storage facilities excluded from the Mineral Resources Act (13); Statistics (14); Authorities and Procedures (15); Special organizational provisions (16); Penal Provisions and Fines (17); repeal, transitional and final provisions (18).
