Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 93 sections divided into twelve Parts and completed by six Schedules, implement provisions of the Electricity Act 1996.
The Regulations provide for: functions and powers of the Essential Services Commission and of the Technical Regulator; licencing requirements for electricity entities and licence fees; residential energy efficiency scheme; greenhouse gas reduction targets; energy efficiency activities; functions and powers of system controllers; powers and duties of electricity entities; undergrounding of power lines; safety and technical requirements; cathodic protection systems; etc.
