Abstract
This Regulation concerns several areas of fisheries management and conservation; it consists of 421 sections and is divided in 14 parts: Preliminary (1); Protected fish, protected waters, prohibited fish and bag limits (2); Fishing gear (3); Priorities in the use of fishing gear (4); Miscellaneous provisions relating to fisheries management (5); Commercial share management fisheries (6); Licensing and other commercial fisheries management (7); Restricted fisheries (8); Fish receivers and fish records (9); Charter fishing management (10); Protection of aquatic habitats (11); Prohibition or restriction of certain actions on or in critical habitats of grey nurse shark (11A); Administration (12) Enforcement (13); Savings and transitional (14).
The Regulation is completed by five schedules: Ocean waters (1); Maps of critical habitat of grey nurse shark (1A); Waters in which net and trap fishing are prohibited (2); Waters in which use of prawn net (set pocket) is permitted (3); Waters in which spearfishing is prohibited (4); Penalty notice offences (5).
