Abstract
The Act provides for the discipline of poisons and medicines. Part 2 concerns offences relating to manufacture and supply of poisons as classified under schedule 2 to 9, offences relating to supply and use of strictly controlled substances, poison obtained under permit, unlawfully obtaining poison by wholesale, and storage, handling, transport and disposal of poisons, among others. Part 3 regulates authorization of health professionals (including veterinarians) to manufacture, administer, possess, prescribe, supply or use medicines, and conditions, suspension and cancellation of authority. Part 4 regulates licenses, permits and notices, Part 5 provides for register of licences, permits, notices and restricted professional authorities. Part 7 is investigation and enforcement. Part Part 10 and 11 are repeals, transitional provisions and consequential amendments.
