Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 110 sections divided into 4 Chapters, implements the Mineral Resources Act 1989. Under Chapter 2, Mining tenements, Part 1 deals with Prospecting permits; Parts 2 and 3 are dedicated to mining claims and Exploration permits and mineral development licences; Parts 4 and 5 to mining leases and Additional conditions for mining tenements relating to particular restricted areas; Chapter 3 covers royalties and Parts 4 and 5 provide for Working out values of minerals and Working out gross values of minerals other than coal seam gas. Chapter 4 specifies Registration requirements. The Regulation contains six Schedules prescribing: areas for mining claim land; potential hazard guides; restrictions of grants; royalties payable for minerals; rent payable; fees; and dictionary.
