Abstract
The Act, consisting of 14 Parts and 657 sections and completed by two Schedules, provides specific legislation in Queensland. The main purposes of this Act are: to consolidate particular provisions common to each of the Resource Acts; to provide for particular common processes that apply to resource authorities; to manage overlapping coal and petroleum resource authorities for coal seam gas; and to assist in achieving the purposes of each of the Resource Acts. The main purposes are achieved by providing for the following matters mainly in this Act, rather than in each of the Resource Acts: dealings, caveats and associated agreements; land access; the new framework for overlapping coal and petroleum resource authorities for coal seam gas; the resource authority register; other miscellaneous matters, etc.
