Abstract
The objective of the Nature Conservation (Administration) Regulation 2017 is to replace the Nature Conservation (Administration) Regulation 2006 in order to provide for the ongoing management of protected areas declared under the Nature Conservation Act 1992, and in particular, to: a) provide for a system of permits and other authorities for the use of protected areas; b) provide a system of licences, permits and other authorities for the use of wildlife outside of protected areas; c) include procedures and requirements relating to those permits and other authorities; d) include procedures and requirements relating to dealing with things seized under either the Nature Conservation (Protected Areas Management) Regulation 2017 or the Nature Conservation (Wildlife Management) Regulation 2006; e) specify offences and penalties for those offences; f) include relevant definitions and schedules; etc. The Regulation also includes amendments to other related legislation, including the Nature Conservation (Estuarine Crocodile) Conservation Plan 2007, the Nature Conservation (Wildlife Management) Regulation 2006, the Nature Conservation (Macropod Harvest Period 2017) Notice 2016 and the State Penalties Enforcement Regulation 2014.
