Abstract
An Act to vest sovereignty in respect of the territorial sea and sovereign rights in respect of the Continental Shelf of Australia in the Crown.
The Governor-General may, from time to time, by Proclamation declare, not inconsistently with: (a) Article 55 or 57 of the Convention; or (b) any relevant international agreement to which Australia is a party; the limits of the whole or of any part of the exclusive economic zone of Australia. "The Governor-General may, from time to time, by Proclamation, declare, not inconsistently with section II of Part I of the Conventional on the territorial sea and Contiguous, the limits of the whole or of any part of the territorial sea" (sect. 7). Division IA makes provision with respect to the exclusive economic zone of Australia. The Governor-General may, from time to time, by Proclamation declare, not inconsistently with: (a) Article 55 or 57 of the Convention; or (b) any relevant international agreement to which Australia is a party; the limits of the whole or of any part of the exclusive economic zone of Australia.
