Presidential Decree No. 531 on approval of the statute of state nature and biosphere reserves.

This Decree aims at a) protecting state nature reserves for conservation of genetic fund, biological diversity and ecological systems, b) carrying out scientific research and organizing a “Nature Chronicle”, c) actualising environmental monitoring as part of monitoring of global environmental monitoring for biosphere reserves, d) ensuring environmental expertise and e) training of scientific personnel and experts in the field of environmental protection. This Decree sets forth provisions on the organization, protection, scientific research activities of and state control over state nature and biosphere reserves.
