Abstract
Protected areas and objects are the national property and represent special ecological, scientific, cultural and aesthetic value. The present Law establishes legal basis for the organization and protection of protected areas and objects. The main principles of the organization, protection and management of protected areas are: 1) conservation of biological diversity and ecosystem; 2) purposeful use of protected areas for scientific research, culture and education; 3) recreational use; 4) international cooperation (art. 3). The Law consists of 15 Sections composed of 50 Articles. Section 1 (arts. 1-4) lays down general provisions. Section 2 (arts. 5-12) regards organization of protected areas. Section 3 (arts. 13-16) deals with management in the sphere of protected areas and objects. Section 4 (arts. 17-20) regards state natural reserves. Section 5 (arts. 21-23) regards national parks. Section 6 (arts.24-26) regards natural parks. Section 7 (arts. 27-28) regards state game reserves. Section 8 (arts. 29-30) regards natural monuments. Section 9 (arts. 31-34) regards zoological parks. Section 10 (arts. 35-38) regards botanical gardens and dendrological parks. Section 11 (arts. 39-40) regards medicinal and recreational areas and health resorts. Section 12 (arts. 41-44) regards financial and economic regulation of protected areas and objects. Section 13 (arts. 45-46) regards control over protection and use of protected areas and objects. Section 14 (arts. 47-48) establishes liability for the infringement of legislation of protected areas and objects. Section 15 (arts. 49-50) regards international cooperation.
