Abstract
This Instruction regulates the manner of adoption and implementation of the Residue Monitoring and Control Plan for the year 2023. Residue control aims to protect the health of consumers and ensure the conditions for unhindered trade in animals and products of animal origin. The purpose of the Plan is to verify whether prohibited substances are used in the treatment of animals in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whether the withdrawal period of the medicine was observed in the treatment of animals, and whether there are contaminants in the food, all with the aim of protecting the health of consumers. The plan includes monitoring and control of residues of monitored substances in samples of tissues and body fluids of the following types of animals and products of animal origin: a) cattle; b) sheep: c) pigs; d) poultry (broilers); e) fish; f) cow's milk; g) sheep's or goat's milk; h) chicken eggs; i) honey.
