Regulation on tea, herbal tea, fruit tea and instant tea.

This Regulation prescribes minimum quality requirements and other requirements that must be met in the production and trade of tea. The provisions of this Regulation do not apply to herbal raw materials in trade, to teas that fall into the category of dietary products and traditional herbal medicines (medicinal teas). Products shall be placed on the market in their original packaging, ensuring that they retain their quality until opened within the expiry date, and shall bear a declaration on the packaging or label in accordance with the Regulation on Consumer Information on Food. Products whose quality is prescribed by this Regulation may be placed on the retail market in bulk in specialised stores, provided that the appropriate product declaration is displayed at the point of sale on the container or packaging from which the product is offered to the consumer. Products shall be stored in a dry and cool place, shall not be exposed to sunlight, humidity or significant temperature changes and shall not be placed near products whose odour they may absorb.
