Abstract
This Regulation sets out the conditions and procedures related to the implementation of financial aid measure number 12 "Natura 2000 payments and the Water Framework Directive" part of the Rural Development Programme of the Republic of Bulgaria for the period from 2014 until 2020. Natura 2000 is a network of nature protection areas in the territory of the European Union. All eligible farmers shall be assisted in order to reach the following objectives: ensuring the conservation, maintenance and/or restoration of the favorable status of natural habitats and habitats of the species subject to conservation in such protected zones.
These rules are in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation (EU) No 1305/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 on support for rural development by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 1698/2005; Regulation (EU) No 1307/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 establishing rules for direct payments to farmers under support schemes within the framework of the common agricultural policy and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 637/2008 and Council Regulation (EC) No 73/2009; Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 of 28 June 2007 on organic production and labellling of organic products and repealing Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91, and Regulation (EU) No 1306/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 on the financing, management and monitoring of the common agricultural policy and repealing Council Regulations (EEC) No 352/78, (EC) No 165/94, (EC) No 2799/98, (EC) No 814/2000, (EC) No 1290/2005 and (EC) No 485/2008.
The Annex is also part of this publication (Annexes 1 and 2; containing lists of compensatory payments for protected areas; and list of basic requirements).
