Ordinance No. 5 on the Requirements for Veterinary Pharmacies and the Conditions and Requirements for Distance Sale of Veterinary Medicinal Products.

This Ordinance establishes the requirements applicable to veterinary pharmacies and regulates the retail sale and distance sale of veterinary medicinal products. It sets out the conditions for obtaining authorization to carry out retail trade in veterinary medicinal products, identifies the persons entitled to conduct such activities, and regulates the dispensing of veterinary medicinal products, including products subject to veterinary prescription.
It establishes requirements regarding the premises, equipment and operation of veterinary pharmacies. It regulates the storage and handling of veterinary medicinal products, including requirements relating to temperature, humidity, hygiene, documentation, staff responsibilities, and the management of expired, defective, withdrawn and controlled products. It also provides for record-keeping obligations and internal procedures concerning the receipt, sale, storage and disposal of veterinary medicinal products.
The Ordinance further regulates the conditions for the distance sale of veterinary medicinal products. It sets out requirements for registration, website information, storage and dispensing of products sold at a distance, specifies the categories of products that may be sold through distance sales, and requires the retention of records relating to orders, prescriptions and sales. The Ordinance also repeals five earlier ordinances concerning veterinary pharmacies and veterinary medicinal products.
