Regulation on the conditions and procedure for the implementation of schemes for supplying fruits, vegetables, milk and milk products in educational facilities-School Fruit Scheme and School Milk Scheme, adopted by Decree № 251 of the Council of Ministers in 2016.

This Regulation sets the conditions and direct procedures for the application of rules and actions as prescribed by the scheme for supply of fruit and vegetables in the educational facilities and establishments, also called as the national School Fruit Scheme, and the same as regards the Scheme for the supply of milk and milk products to such educational establishments on the territory of the republic of Bulgaria.
These provisions are aimed at improving the nutritional habits of children and students by increasing the consumption of fruits, vegetables, milk and dairy products in compliance with established health requirements; increasing the long term consumption of fruit, vegetables, milk and milk products; raising awareness of children, pupils and their parents and teachers on principles of healthy eating; stimulating the production and marketing of fruit, vegetables, milk and dairy products in the European Union.
These measures are financed by the European Union Agricultural Guarantee Fund as well as from the state budget.
