Abstract
This Regulation provides for the conditions and necessary order for the implementation of official control over the use of protected geographical indications of agricultural products and foodstuffs with traditionally specific character.
The official control, object of this text, shall be exercised at all stages of production, labelling and placing on the market of agricultural products and foodstuffs with protected geographical indications.
The legal protection of geographical indications or traditional foodstuff will be also granted through the entry into the European Union register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications, or unified European register of guaranteed traditional specialties.
