Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the phytosanitary control and safety measures against the introduction and spread of what is called as quarantine pests, hosted and transmitted on plants and plant products in the case of: importation and transit of plants, plant products and other objects; export and re-export of plants, plant products and other objects; production, processing, cultivation and movement of plants and plant products.
These rules and certificates here defined are also in full accordance with models of phytosanitary certificate and their electronic equivalent specified in the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC).
Plant passport is regulated in articles 37-41 (Chapter Five, Section II).
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) shall carry out the phytosanitary control of plants, plant products and other objects on which quarantine pests may be transmitted and spread, and shall handle all other related actions and official notifications.
