Abstract
This Act regulates pollution control. It consists of 12 articles establishing environmental policy to be applied within the State of Pernambuco and controls to be carried out in order to avoid environmental pollution. It lays down the definition of "polluting substance" as well as the requirements to be satisfied for obtaining a licence, issued by 'CPRH' ("Companhia Pernambucana de Controle da Poluição Ambiental e de Administração dos Recursos Hídricos") for performing potentially polluting activities. This Act also concerns sanctions to be paid by offenders.
