This Law, consisting of 9 Chapters and 3 Annexes, provides for environmental licensing offenses and administrative penalties for environmental illegal activity. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the State Agency of Environment (CPRH), entitled for the implementation of the State policy on environment and for improving and ensuring the quality of the environment in the State of Pernambuco, aiming at the sustainable development through the rational use of environmental resources, the preservation and rehabilitation of the environment, the control over pollution and environmental degradation, etc. The Agency is responsible for the management of environmental resources and projects exploiting natural resources, considered effectively or potentially polluting activities.
