Complementary Law No. 275 modernizing and redefining the basic organizational structure of the State Secretariat for Agriculture (SEAG).

This Law establishes to modernize and redefine the basic organizational structure of the State Secretariat for Agriculture (SEAG). It changes its name to the State Secretariat for Agriculture, Supply, Aquaculture and Fisheries (SEAG), aimed at promoting the sustainable development of agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture and agribusiness in Espírito Santo. The Secretariat is responsible to perform the following activities: promote, coordinate, guide, stimulate and regulate agricultural, aquaculture and fishing activities; promote, coordinate and stimulate research programmes, studies, surveys and analysis of interest in these sectors; coordinate and monitor the elaboration of plans, programmes and projects for the development of the agricultural, agrarian, fishing and aquaculture sectors of the State; promote, coordinate and evaluate the execution of forest development policy and the preservation, conservation and recovery of renewable natural resources within the State; promote, coordinate and evaluate the execution of the control, inspection, plant health protection, as well as health protection of products of animal origin; elaborate, coordinate and evaluate land policy, the execution of the projects, integrated with the National Plan of Agrarian Reform; develop other actions aimed at promoting sustainable rural development in Espírito Santo.
