Abstract
This Decree, consisting of 9 articles, creates and extends the limits of the National Park of Descobrimento within the Municipality of Prado, in the State of Bahia. It establishes new geographical coordinates of the above mentioned protected area (of a total of 22.693 ha.) in order to protect and preserve local wildlife, ecosystem and habitat. New geographical limits are specified in the text. Control and management shall be under the competence of the Biodiversity Conservation Institution Chico Mendes. Mining activity within certain areas of the park are authorized by the National Department of Mining Production (DNPM) and licensed by the competent environmental authority.
