Decree No. 6.660 regulating Law No. 11.428 on the use and protection of native forest in the Atlantic Forest biome.

This Decree, consisting of 15 Chapters divided into 51 articles, regulates Law No. 11.428 on the use and protection of native forest in the Atlantic Forest biome. The map of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), referred to in art. 2 of Law No. 11,428, includes the a long series of native forests and related ecosystems and native vegetation of coastal and oceanic islands. This Decree regulates the potential exploitation with or without commercial purpose of species of native forests and plants, including requirements to obtain a forest exploitation licence and obligation of reforestation of deforested native forest and plant areas.
