Decree No. 9.221 regulating Law 12.512 on the Programme to Promote Rural Productive Activities.

This Decree, consisting of 29 articles divided into five Chapters, regulates the Programme for the Promotion of Rural Productive Activities. The above mentioned Programme has the following objectives: I - structuring productive activities of the beneficiaries with a view to productive inclusion and promotion of food and nutritional security; II - contribution to the increase of income and assets of the beneficiaries, from the generation of surplus in the productive activities supported; III - stimulation of sustainable and agroecological production activities; IV - promotion, in articulation with public and private bodies and entities, of complementary actions to strengthen the autonomy of beneficiaries, especially through: a) technical and social monitoring; b) access to markets; and c) the availability of water infrastructure directed to production; V - stimulation of the dynamism of rural territories, through guidance to beneficiary families on economic opportunities in regional productive chains; VI - incentive to the participation of the beneficiary families in actions of social, educational, technical and professional qualification; and VII - incentive to the associative and cooperative organization of its beneficiaries.
In addition, it establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the Steering Committee of the Programme to Promote Rural Productive Activities, entitled to: approve the planning of the Programme and matching the available resources with the number of beneficiary families; define the monitoring and evaluation system of the Programme; articulate the Programme with actions and other public policies aimed at the territorial development of the regions where the beneficiary families are located, etc.
