Decree No. 7.644 regulating the Programme for the Promotion of Rural Productive Activities.

This Decree, consisting of 5 Chapters, regulates the Programme for the Promotion of Rural Productive Activities. It encompasses: I- Defining productive activities of beneficiaries in order to improve rural household food security; II-Contributing income generating activities originated from exceeding production; III- Promoting sustainable productive and agro-ecological activities; IV- Strenghtening market access and irrigation system; and V- Rural ecosystem preservation.
Beneficiary families can participate in the Programme based on the formulation of a project structuring the family production unit. The project must: be prepared by the person responsible for technical assistance together with the family benefited by the program; contain one or more activities suitable to the characteristics of the family production unit and the territory; contain if possible activities that include women and youth in order to contribute to increased profits and reduced inequalities. The Ministry of Rural Development (MDA) will keep a record of the terms of reference of the different projects and related monitoring activities.
