Abstract
This Law, consisting of 4 Chapters, establishes the State Policy on Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security. This State Policy defines the following guidelines: promoting and incorporation of the right to adequate food in public policy; promoting access to quality food and healthy lifestyles; promoting food and nutrition education; promoting nutrition and maternal and infant-juvenile nutrition; supplemental and emergency care to individuals or population groups in vulnerable situations; strengthening health surveillance of food; supporting the generation of employment and income; preservation and restoration of the environment and water resources; respect for traditional communities and local eating habits; the promotion of permanent participation of the various segments of civil society; decentralization of actions; promoting integrated policies to tackle regional concentration of income and the consequent social exclusion, etc.
