Abstract
This Law, consisting of 8 articles, establishes the State Policy for the Sustainable Rural Development of Family Farming (Pedraf). Pedraf aims at guiding government actions for the sustainable rural development and solidarity and at strengthening family farming in the state, ensuring the participation of organized civil society. Pedraf will be developed, in articulation with the state policy of agricultural development, established by Law No. 11.405 of 28 January 1994, as well as with public policies, organs and representation councils of agriculture at federal level. The target public of plans and actions organized by Pedraf are: family farmers, according to art. 3 of Federal Law No. 11.326 of 24 July 2006; salaried workers in agricultural sector; beneficiaries of state or federal land credit programmes; low-income woman residing in rural areas; young child of family farmers or employed persons referred to in art. 5 (sects. I and II); formally recognized quilombola settlers or indigenous people.
