Marine Mammal Protection Act, 2005 (Cap. 244A).

This Act imposes the requirement of a licence or a permit for activities that may harm any mammal which is morphologically adapted to the marine environment. It also prohibits the hunting for and taking or harassing of marine mammals for purposes other than stated in this Act (generally scientific and preservation purposes) and regulates the operation of captive marine mammal facilities. The Act also provides for inspection by marine mammal inspectors appointed by the Minister under this Act and enforcement. International trade in marine mammals or marine mammal products without a licence or a permit shall be prohibited.
