Abstract
This Law has as its scope the provision of the state bodies, other organizations and natural persons with hydrometeorological information. The Act consists of seven Chapters divided into 31 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) types of hydrometeorological activity, the rights and the duties of the producers and the rights of the consumers of hydrometeorological information; (3) the state management of hydrometeorological activity; (4) legal grounds for carrying out hydrometeorological activity; (5) hydrometeorological information; (6) international cooperation; and (7) conclusive provisions. The purpose of hydrometeorological activity shall be to prevent negative environmental impact and environmental damage. Hydrological observations shall be carried out by hydrometeorological service with a view of data collection on the surface waterbodies that is necessary for surface water monitoring, keeping of the state register of waterbodies and assessment of environmental impact of economic activity on waterbodies and water resources.
